Allow us to introduce you to Dania — a Syrian-Croatian-American sad girl. Growing up with a mixed cultural background, Dania was influenced by everything from the soaring Arab melodies of Fairouz, to the soulful art-pop sounds of Lana del Rey, to the jazz of Billie Holiday. As a singer-songwriter, Dania likes to use all of these influences in her music, and perform across multiple genres. Dania has done cultural performances at the Smithsonian, pop music at a NYFW show, and jazz as part of an artist in residence program at the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia. Growing up there wasn't a lot of Arab representation in American arts, and Dania hopes to inspire people in her community, as well as speak up about more taboo topics such as mental health and race.
